Dr. Mansur curriculum
Dr. Henry Mansur did his medical education at Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Monterrey TEC) where he received the award for prominent academic activity. During the internship he attended the Methodist Hospital in  Baylor College of Medicine. Houston, TX. He was accepted to the residency program at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey at Hospital San José-Tec de Monterrey (ITESM) where he was Chief Resident in General Surgery Department.
During his surgical training he completed the Preceptorship and Proctorship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Texas Endosurgery Institute in  San Antonio, Texas. He is certified by the Mexican Board or Surgery. He maintains active membership in the Mexican College of Surgeons, SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons), the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, (ASMBS), Mexican College for Bariatric Surgery, AMCE (Mexican Society Endoscopic Surgery) and ALACE (Latinoamerican Society of Endoscopic Surgery. He is also a LAPBAND Certified Surgeon (for the FDA approved gastric band), with experience of more than 3000 lapbands and more than 250 sleeve gastrectomies.
Dr. Mansur has experience for 7 years in weight loss surgery field. With his extensive training and experiences in general surgery, he became an early advocate of Bariatric surgery and is Co-Founder of the Advanced Bariatric Institute with Dr. Felipe Cantú; they have being practicing in Saltillo, Monterrey and Reynosa, receiving Mexican as well as American patients from all over the country. During the past 5 years he has traveled extensively on Texas Valley speaking to groups about Bariatric surgery and obesity.
